Otis Redding & The Bar-Kays - Try A Little Tenderness

About The Video

In just five years, Otis Redding became one of the most influential soul singers in the world, turning out one inventive masterpiece after another. One of his greatest records was his ingenious reworking of the 1932 song Try A Little Tenderness, transforming it into gospel-tent ode to kindness, love and vulnerability.

This great performance of this song is made all the more poignant because the following day his plane would go down in Lake Mendota outside of Madison, Wisconsin taking the lives of Redding and four of the Bar-Keys.
